The Powerball jackpot has surged again! Monday night's estimated jackpot has reached $1.1 billion, with an estimated cash value of $503.4 million. This marks the sixth-largest jackpot in Powerball history.

“This jackpot build-up has sparked dreams for many during this festive season,” said Matt Strawn, Chairman of the Powerball Product Group and CEO of the Iowa Lottery. “Please play responsibly. A $2 Powerball ticket gives you a chance to win this jackpot while supporting charitable causes in your community.”

Following last night's drawing, the Powerball jackpot rolled over again as no one matched all winning numbers: white balls 1, 28, 31, 57, 58 and red Powerball 16. The Power Play multiplier was 2X.

Although no one won the jackpot, lottery agencies across the U.S. reminded players to check their tickets carefully, as many may still have won cash prizes.

Nationwide, last night's Powerball drawing produced 7 tickets winning $1 million or more. Five tickets sold in California, Florida, Michigan, New Jersey, and Virginia matched all five white balls, each winning $1 million.

Two additional tickets sold in North Carolina and Pennsylvania also matched all five white balls. Because players paid an extra dollar for the “Power Play” option, their $1 million prizes were multiplied to $2 million each.

This draw also produced 49 tickets winning $50,000 prizes and 12 tickets winning $100,000 prizes.

Note: In California, prize payouts are “pooled,” determined by sales revenue and the number of winners.

In the “Double Draw,” two tickets sold in Colorado and North Carolina each matched all five black balls, winning $500,000 prizes. Double Draw is a $1 add-on feature allowing players to use their Powerball numbers for a second drawing with a chance to win up to $10 million. The Double Draw live broadcast occurs after the main Powerball drawing at PowerballHome.com.

Monday's Powerball drawing will mark the 43rd consecutive draw in the current jackpot run, setting a record for the most consecutive draws in a single jackpot cycle. The last Powerball jackpot was won on September 6, shared by two tickets in Missouri and Texas for $1.787 billion.

Should a player win Monday's jackpot, they may choose between an estimated $1.1 billion annuity payment or an estimated $503.4 million lump-sum cash payment. Both options represent pre-tax amounts. If the winner selects the annuity option, they will receive an initial payment followed by annual installments over 29 years, each increasing by 5% annually.

Powerball tickets cost $2 per play. Lottery tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. More than half of the sales revenue from each Powerball ticket stays in the jurisdiction where the ticket was sold. Since its first drawing in 1992, the Powerball game has raised over $37 billion for U.S. lottery-supported public causes.

Powerball drawings are broadcast live every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time from the Florida Lottery Drawing Studio in Tallahassee, Florida. Drawings are also streamed live on PowerballHome.com.

The overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 24.9. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
